The primary role of the Dental Assistant (DA) is to assist the dentist and dental hygienist as necessary to gain the patient's commitment for the best possible treatment and care.
This full-time position is Monday - Thursdays 7:
30am - 5:
30pm.
Our office is closed on most Fridays.
Duties:
Assist with opening and closing duties.
Restock all operatories each day.
Responsible for maintaining an appropriate and adequate clinical supply in each room.
Ensure the sterility of instruments, operatory is stocked, set-up for appropriate procedure, and presentable before subsequent patients arrive.
Full complete and accurate tray set-up must be completed prior to the patient's arrival and must ensure all materials are available for the procedure.
Seat patients at the time of their appointment, if patient is late ask the front office for an update.
Communicate with the front office and the doctor if the back is running behind schedule, running ahead of schedule, or if there are any changes during the planned procedure.
Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment and act in a professional manner.
Prep patients for exams, treatments, cleanings; and assist the doctor or hygienist throughout the entire procedure.
Assist front office in obtaining and maintaining patient health histories and updating the Health History Module in Dentrix as needed.
At the direction of the doctor or hygienist, complete radiographic images (Bitewings/PA/FMX) and intraoral photos when appropriate.
Present instruments and materials to the doctor or hygienist as needed.
At the direction of the doctor, instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care.
Treatment Plan procedures in Dentrix patient chart, arrange treatment in 'Visits' and treatment folders.
Set complete the procedures that were performed today in the Dentrix Patient Chart for every patient you assist throughout the day.
Bring Route Slip to the front and walk patients to the front desk.
Ensure proper hand off to the front with the patient and admin team present and explain thoroughly the RTR/Referral/Rx/Pt Special requests and write on the Route Slip.
Perform daily, weekly and/or monthly maintenance on dental equipment.
Excellent time management is a must for the ideal patient flow, with doctor and hygienist time, employee breaks and lunches to ensure adequate coverage.
Abide by all infection control protocols and maintain a clean and orderly working environment.
Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols and always wear proper PPE.
Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.
g.
, OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, DOL, CPR, HR policies and practices).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
